Australia Day 2010 - Brighton Beach

by Mandy Ferry
(Melbourne)

We love to go to Brighton beach, it's just gorgeous. This particular little stretch is perfect, nice and clean, gorgeous views and not over crowded.

This particular photo is of my daughter Olivia and my husband as they collect shells together.

She used some to build castles and others we took home which she bottled up with some coloured sand that we dyed too. We just love the beach!

Hi Mandy,
Now that's a great way to start the Photo Contest off!

Brighton Beach is such a lovely spot. Those colorful Beach Houses, sandy beach and safe waters to swim in.
Thank you for sharing and best of luck.
Regards,
Marylyn(SuperNan)

Be Sun Smart

You cannot feel or see UV (Ultraviolet radiation). We can see the sun's light and we can feel the sun's warmth (the infrared radiation). Our senses don't pick up on UV radiation and this is why it is so damaging.

Right across Australia this UV radiation varies, it being determined by the time of day, time of year, the weather including cloud cover, how close to the equator the position is and other considerable scientific factors.
