Christmas Eve Baseball Game On The Beach

Beach Baseball Fun And Games

My family lives in Southern California, so Christmas time for us is usually not worse than a slight chill in the air.

This year, we went down -- as we often do -- to a little beach town just north of San Diego, where the aunts, uncles, and all the rest of the extended family gets together to gather, catch up, and eat as much food as we can possibly fit into our bellies.

After the meal, everyone splits off, some doing dishes, others drinking beer and watching the sunset.

The kids usually run off their excess sugar from dessert, and this picture captures the moment when my niece and nephew were trying to practice their skills at the Essential American Skill: hitting a ball with a bat.

Needless to say, they may not have made any improvement that afternoon, but they definitely had fun.

Hi Christopher,

Great capture!

Thank you for you fantastic entry.

You know what I love about these yearly Photo Contests is that I get to share those sort of precious moments that families, like yourself, have enjoyed.

To me that is the greatest gift that anyone can give another person. The gift of Happy Memories and that snapshot sure looks like it was a happy day!

Best of luck with the Contest

And Don't Forget To Be Sun Smart

You cannot feel or see UV (Ultraviolet radiation). We can see the sun's light and we can feel the sun's warmth (the infrared radiation). Our senses don't pick up on UV radiation and this is why it is so damaging.

Right across Australia this UV radiation varies, it being determined by the time of day, time of year, the weather including cloud cover, how close to the equator the position is and other considerable scientific factors.
