Most years Family Getaways Melbourne runs a little fun competition. The subject matter is always the same - families playing at the seaside.

Photos that are taken can be of any aspect to do with fun times at the beach whether it be play or serious stuff like building sandcastles for competitions or perhaps that family grudge cricket match etc.

Well! it's on again. The 'Family Beach Photo' competition. I hope that you have been saving those snapshots for this year's entry.

I've chosen Fishpond once again as the prize for the winning entry as it has been greatly received and used in the past years by other competition winners.

And Don't Forget To Be Sun Smart

You cannot feel or see UV (Ultraviolet radiation). We can see the sun's light and we can feel the sun's warmth (the infrared radiation). Our senses don't pick up on UV radiation and this is why it is so damaging.

Right across Australia this UV radiation varies, it being determined by the time of day, time of year, the weather including cloud cover, how close to the equator the position is and other considerable scientific factors.
