Great Ocean Road

Do any of the beaches along the Great Ocean Road have sea glass? We are stopping overnight at Lorne then heading to Port Campbell and going up to Camperdown from there.

Any help would be much appreciated

Great Ocean Road's Seaglass
by: Marylyn

Hi Tania,

Because this coastline is renowned for its past shipwrecks, the beaches can be great places to find that illusive piece of seaglass or pottery shard etc.

To actually point you to a specific beach is beyond my expertise.

There are some interesting comments here ...

I did manage to find this photo on Pinterest of seaglass that was collected down at Lochard Gorge.

I hope it helps.

Best of luck and please, if you find some pieces I am sure we would love you to show us your finds.
Cheers,
Marylyn

Be Sun Smart

You cannot feel or see UV (Ultraviolet radiation). We can see the sun's light and we can feel the sun's warmth (the infrared radiation). Our senses don't pick up on UV radiation and this is why it is so damaging.

Right across Australia this UV radiation varies, it being determined by the time of day, time of year, the weather including cloud cover, how close to the equator the position is and other considerable scientific factors.
