Question

Do I need to book a picnic table at Mooroondah Dam?

Answer

Hi there!

Now this has taken quite some time to answer your enquiry.

For that I am so sorry!

Maroondah Reservoir Park is open 8:30 AM until 8:00 PM during daylight savings time and 8.30 AM until 4:30 PM non daylight savings time.

Gate opening/closing times for the park apply.

There is no need to book a table as there are many to choose from.

I would suggest though, that if you are visiting the park and the weather is a fine Melbourne day, we actually do get them, then get there early enough to secure your BBQ and table.

There are also vast areas of grassland where you can set up picnic blankets as well.

Here is a great video showing what you can find at the park.

If you require more information please don't hesitate to contact me either through the Question and Answer process or over on the Contact Me Form

Once again I do apologize for taking so long in answering your enquiry.

Cheers,
Marylyn

And Don't Forget To Be Sun Smart

You cannot feel or see UV (Ultraviolet radiation). We can see the sun's light and we can feel the sun's warmth (the infrared radiation). Our senses don't pick up on UV radiation and this is why it is so damaging.

Right across Australia this UV radiation varies, it being determined by the time of day, time of year, the weather including cloud cover, how close to the equator the position is and other considerable scientific factors.
