The Melbourne Climate in the month of February can really be described as unpredictable.

Summer is in full swing, the days are long and the sun is hot, hot, hot!

Tee shirts, thongs and shorts seems to be the national dress code but be on the look out for the unexpected.

The weather can change so suddenly from a sweltering humidity to suddenly freezing cold!

It's a good idea to check out the projected forecast if you are wanting to make plans for day or even the week.

Sometimes these sudden climate changes can bring flash floods in the city central and the outer suburbs.

So as not to put you off a visit to Melbourne during the month of February let me also say that a typical day is warm and sunny with a fresh breeze that blows in from Port Phillip Bay.

February experiences quite a few really hot days and these most Melbournians spend down by the ocean.

One of Melbourne's favorite pasttimes during the summer months is attending the Day/Night cricket matches at the MCG.

As the nights are long and the temperatures are warm, it is the perfect place to settle in with the family for a truly awesome sporting experience.

And Don't Forget To Be Sun Smart

You cannot feel or see UV (Ultraviolet radiation). We can see the sun's light and we can feel the sun's warmth (the infrared radiation). Our senses don't pick up on UV radiation and this is why it is so damaging.

Right across Australia this UV radiation varies, it being determined by the time of day, time of year, the weather including cloud cover, how close to the equator the position is and other considerable scientific factors.
