Getting To The Docklands


Free Melbourne Visitor Shuttle

Hop on and hop off the free shuttle bus at any of the stops at key city destinations.

The Shuttle takes you to Harbour Town shopping centre at Waterfront City.

Runs daily from 9.30am to 4.30pm.

By Tram

Catch the free City Circle Tram to Docklands or take one of the following city trams:

Tram 30 via La Trobe Street

Tram 70 via Flinders Street

Tram 86 via Bourke Street.

To reach Victoria Harbour – catch tram 48 via Collins Street.

By Train

Southern Cross Station (formerly Spencer Street Station) is Melbourne’s main rail interchange for suburban, regional and interstate trains.

Southern Cross Station is located right on Docklands’ doorstep.

Exit the station at the northern end to walk across the Bourke Street Pedestrian Bridge via the Etihad Stadium concourse, to Docklands’ Harbour Esplanade.

You can also exit the station on the corner of Spencer and Collins streets and walk across the Collins Street Bridge to Docklands Park.

Getting there by water

Take a water taxi from the Crown Entertainment Centre or charter a boat.

You can cruise into Melbourne via the fabulous marina facilities at Docklands.

Bring your boat to berth at Docklands any time of the year to dine at fabulous restaurants, cafes and bars within the Dockland Precincts.

Marina access is easy from Port Phillip Bay.

There are four Docklands marinas offering public berthings for day trippers, overnighters or for extended stays.

  The Stadium Precinct  

The Etihad Stadium is a predominant feature overlooking the Victorian Harbour and Central Pier District.

This stadium has the ability to have both open and closed roof configurations enabling it to stage many sporting and entertainment events such as:

  • Rugby
  • International Stars Concerts

The Stadium Precinct is also home to the Seven Network's Melbourne digital broadcasting center.

  The Yarra's Edge Precinct  

Modern, up market, progressive and inspirational, all this adds up to the Yarra's Edge Precinct.

This Precinct is an extension of the Crown Promenade and South Wharf and houses top restaurants, cafes, a luxurious day spa, art galleries and a world class marina.

The amazing Webb Bridge allows pedestrian traffic to link across the yarra River to Victoria Harbour and the Docklands Park.

The design is a representation of the Koorie fishing traps, drums, baskets and the winding flow of the Yarra River below.

  Batman's Hill Precinct  

Public Spaces, innovative architecture, new retail outlets and early Melbourne History rolled into one here at the original landing site of this great city, Melbourne Australia.

The Historic Goods Shed No.2 has been extensively renovated and now houses the Fox Classic Car Museum

The Enterprize Tall Ship is a replica of the first ship that brought British settlers to Melbourne in 1835.

Public sails are held throughout the year around Port Phillip Bay

Charter or sleep onboard as you sail off on an overnight voyage to Geelong, as an example.

Melbourne Flames is a Dragon Boat club based in Docklands, Melbourne.

Located at Shed 2 on the North Wharf.

Visitors to the Docklands often see these Dragon Boats out on the Victoria Harbour either competing in competitions, training or just celebrating events like the Chinese New Year.
