My sister and I at Boiler Bay State Wayside, July 2016
For the first time ever, my only sister and I took a weekend to spend some special time together, after decades of working and raising our families.
The time we spent together was even more poignant since we both manage life-threatening health issues, and wanted to fulfill this dream before we reached the point we could no longer travel.
On the last weekend in July 2016, we made that dream come true.
One afternoon, we spent a couple of hours at Boiler Bay State Wayside, located between Lincoln City and Depoe Bay, Oregon USA.
Here enormous waves crashed into rocky ledges, shaking the bluff on which we stood.
Whomp! White spray shot hundreds of yard into a crystal clear blue sky.
In the distance we saw a pod of Gray Whales spy-hopping and blowing as they crested the Pacific Ocean. Cormorants and flocks of pelicans slip-streamed wave troughs, and sea gulls floated on the wind.
It was spectacular!
The precious memory of our time on the Oregon coast is dear to my heart, and I will never forget our wonderful weekend together.
