Sunrise over Redcliff Beach 2000

I had to show you this.

It was the last day of our holidays and I had decided that I just had to get a photo of the sunrise down at the beach. Redcliff Beach, Queensland that is.

We had been staying at Redcliff with my Aunty and it had been a wonderful way to celebrate the beginning of the new century.

A Family Re-union never to be forgotten.

The start of the year 2000 will always be remembered as full of fun family times and great memories.

Spent most of the time down there on the sand with the kids, my dear old Dad and the rest of the mob. Most of the family had either driven down, across or up to see the New Year in.

Some had come from other parts of Australia and we even had one of Dad's brothers arrive from England! What a great surprise for Dad. He hadn't seen Joe for 35 years.

What a time we all had!

Here is the shot I took as the sun was rising over the sands at Redcliff.

Hope you like it.
Regards
Sue.

Hi Sue,

What a great story and what a beautiful Photo.

Thankyou.

I spent seeing the 2000 new Year in down at Flinders Beach.

What an incredible thought...You were watching the sunrise way up there in Queensland and I was doing the same thing way down here in Victoria.
Same Sun, same Time...Wow!
Thanks for the memory jog.
Regards,
Marylyn(SuperNan)

PS: Anybody like to tell us if they were on a beach celebrating the start of New Year, 2000. A photo would be great if you have one.

Go to Family Beaches or perhaps enter the Family Photo Competition here Family Beach Photos Competition

Hey Sue, Have you got one?

Gotta love 'em !
Spent the first morning of 2000 on top of Mt Buffalo in Victoria.
Bottle of Bubbly, beautiful woman(the wife) and our 3 week old first born son...
There I go tearing up as you say!
Gotta go blow my nose.
