Hi

NEW PAGES ON FAMILY GETAWAYS MELBOURNE

Melbourne in March

Wow! When I wrote this page I had no idea what was coming!

Covid-19 (corona virus) was only a general whisper and we, the general public were in for a big shock!

Since the page went live, I have had to sadly edit it constantly as tings changed daily.

Hopefully, I can adjust the page later on down the track to reflect what a great time can be had in Melbourne during the month of March!

Check the page out here ...

Love you to share this page's pin in Pinterest. You will find it here at Things to do in March

Melbourne to Robe

Last month I took off on a road trip to Robe in South Australia.

This was an adventure that I had wanted to go on ever since I had read about the amazing Glass Beach in Robe.

And boy, I did not expect that I was going to find what I did. My findings re-awakened my desire to create my very own line of Sea Glass products. These I am creating at this moment and hope to sell to you all in my website shop later this year.

Thank God that the Corona Virus hadn't struck us here in Australia back in February!

I had to write about my adventures in Robe, here. Check out why this is such a great place to visit and only a short 7 hour drive and short break from Melbourne ...

If you get the opportunity to go and check the place out for yourself, I am sure you won't be disappointed!

Sadly - Corona Virus (Covid-19) Melbourne Updates

I can't believe that I have had to write such a page on my website.

Our beautiful city of Melbourne, in fact all of Australia has had to either shut it's business doors to Retail, Restaurants and Cafes, tourist destinations and activities, parklands and sporting venues. Shopping centres are now deserted and the traffic on our streets has dwindled to just a few cars with essential services travelling to and from work.

Such a sad state of affairs and the public, including visiting tourists have had specific direction as to what we/they all need to do to stop the spread of this insidious virus.

Researing for content for the page has been difficult as each day 'things change'

Book Review: Sea Glass Hunters Handbook

Now, this is my very first book review for my favorite subject: Sea Glass

Love this compact book as it really makes for the best initial introduction to what Sea Glass is all about. Well written and beautifully illustrated.

Check out the review here at ...

Exciting Time Ahead

Yes, even though times are certainly strange at the moment, I'm staying positive and truly looking forward to sharing with you my new Project.

I've registered my Business Name - Southern Shores Sea Glass and we are about to all set sail to the Island of a Beachcomber's Paradise :-)

There will be 'how to' videos together with PSF directions on what you can do with your finding, beautiful product lines made with actual sea glass that I have collected here in Australia over the years.

I've been busy learning how to make interesting videos for you, my clients and playing with new equipment such as, gimbals, soft boxes and top/down videoing stands. So much fun and games!

So here's to an exciting time for us all ...

Site Overhaul! is still going on

If you do find anything on the website that is out of date, I would really appreciate if you could let me know. Please contact me here

If you would like to share your experience or experiences with us, that would be great. Become part of the website with your very own page.

Preparing your trip/visit into the city will save you heaps of time and frustration.

Family Getaways Melbourne will help somewhat, however, there are other ways that you can make your visit a memorable one.

WHEN IT IS SAFE TO DO SO - MY SUGGESTION

I love BBQ's in the park.

There's something about a BBQ'd sausage in bread and the smell of the Aussie bush. School holidays are looming at the end of the month and Melbourne's parks and gardens are excellent places to take the kids and let them run wild!

Melbourne's Markets On Social Media

Each week, on my Market's Facebook page, I USUALLY list all the markets that are on over the weekend.

As we have been instructed to stay at home unless it is totally necessary, I have suspended writing the list until it is safe for us all to pop down to enjoy the experience.

There are some markets open for the time being offering very restricted produce to purchase, as far as normal retail stalls, these have been closed for the time being.

My suggestion would be to check before you venture out. Just a phone call usually will suffice.

Don't tempt fate, too dangerous to you and your loved ones. Stay home for the time being until it is safe to pop out socially to these great places.

WHEN IT IS SAFE TO DO SO

Follow the Melbourne Markets page on Facebook, that way you will know what markets are on each weekend.

I also have the weekly market listings on this page on the website

This 'Tried' button really gets the conversations going.

Give it a try out. For example you may have done something in Melbourne that the picture is depicting. Say so and what you thought of it.

Look out for the pictures that I have pinned personally - they will have this showing ...

This is the 'Pinterest Board' that has my Website pages pinned. I'm working through each of my pages and making sure that each is pinned onto this board. If you want to only follow one of my boards, let it be this one at least :-)

Family Getaways

I would love some Help!

Over the next few months, I have set myself a goal to really advance my website and try and build the traffic that is visiting.

So much so that I'm going to be doing a lot of posting, Tweeting and Instagraming through the Social Media platforms.

Here's where I would love you to help somewhat. You have a wonderful group of peers. Some of whom have never seen the Family Getaways Website. I would love you to share the site around amongst your family and friends.

The figures are improving every week, however, where I would love them to be is a lot higher.

Building Family Getaways Melbourne keeps me young and active, sharing what I know and what I'm learning about Melbourne gives me so much pleasure. I am sure there are stacks more people out there who would enjoy what the site has to offer.

I will say thanks for the help now as I know you love this little 'Tribe' we are in and I'm sure so will your peers.

The Future Of Family Getaways Melbourne

The Site is here to stay and I hope that you are enjoying exploring the pages as much as I do writing them up.

This coming month I will be out there exploring more of what Melbourne has to offer. The city is developing so fast these days. New buildings going up, new precincts being redeveloped and more things to see and do.

If there is anything that you need to ask pop over here and ask away

Want to see more content o the site? Have you got any suggestions? Contact me here

Don't forget to drop in and visit any of the markets I've reviewed so far and tell them Family Getaways Melbourne suggested that you do so.

If you like this Newsletter's content, please do a friend and me a big favor and "pay it forward."

If a friend DID forward this to you and if you like what you read, I'd love you to subscribe by visiting...

The Subscription Page. Fill in the form and that way we won't lose touch.

Until we speak again in December (OMG! It's nearly Christmas!), have a great month.

STAY HOME SAFE AND STAY HEALTHY

Please stay safe during this unprecedented time. Look forward to better days ahead, hopefully in the not too distant future.

Stay home, stay indoors as much as you can and I am sure we all all be out enjoying what this magnificent planet has to offer sooner rather than later. Life has changed but we are all adaptable.

Australia will once again provide us all with enjoyable experiences and my hometown of Melbourne will come alive again.

Until next month,

Cheers,
