March in Melbourne is exciting, full of festivals, food and wine. Plenty of colour and diverse cultural experiences.
The streets come alive with Moomba, Melbourne's major annual festival and the thrilling Australian Formula 1 racing car competition held around the banks of the Albert Park.
There is so much to see and do for you, your friends and family, filling up every weekend with excitement.
Melbourne loves to laugh and the Comedy festival gives everyone the chance to do so. For a full 6 weeks there are local and overseas talent here who will entertain and deligt you.
Melbourne is proud of its diverse cultural heritage and throughout the month, different cultures take the opportunity to share their customs, their food, their wines and themselves with us all.
And take full advantage of Melbourne's sunny days as Summer is still here with us. Melbourne on a sunny day is glorious. March's weather is great and the perfect month to enjoy picnics in the park, a stroll along theYarra River and the city's beautiful gardens.
There's even the opportunity to explore some of Melbourne's best garden designers and flower arrangers at the annual Flower and garden show.

Moomba returns to the streets of Melbourne with a huge program of free events and activities over four jam-packed days.
Carnival rides and games, kids' activities, fireworks, watersports and more. There's the wacky and wonderful Birdman Rally held each year on the Yarra River and of course the iconic Moomba Parade.

Don’t miss the iconic Moomba Parade starts at 10.45am on Monday 9 March and features colourful floats, dance troupes, community groups and more.
The crowning of the Moomba Monarchs (Moomba King and Queen) is one of the festival’s most iconic ceremonial traditions

Birdman can be viewed from the Boathouse Drive side of the Yarra River. The spectacular Birdman Rally is a long-held Moomba tradition that is one of the funniest things to see. Some of the contraptions are so wacky!
Birdman competitors are busily raising money in the lead up to their leap into the Yarra. The amount they raise will add extra points to their final score.

Lonsdale Street Greek Festival is Melbourne's largest celebration of Greek culture, arts, food and entertainment. The festival features some of the country's most talented performers, musicians, dancers, chefs, cooks and competitors for a weekend of Greek-flavoured fun!
With over 90 stalls, three free entertainment stages and roving performers, children’s rides and activities, as well as multiple bars and an array of mouthwatering Greek culinary delights, there will be something for the entire family to enjoy!

Join in the fun of Holi, a traditional Hindu festival celebrating the beginning of spring and the triumph of good over evil. It is best known around the world for the coloured powder that the crowd throws on each other.
This fun filled festival with plenty of delicious food prepared by Melbourne's various most famous food vendors. There are variety stalls, Bollywood dance performances and a huge DJ lineup with non-stop music.
