The Melbourne Zoo visit was always high on the school holiday's agenda when I was a youngster. In those days the zoo was very different.

I remember when I was a little girl, it was my sweetheart Nannie who took me to the zoo. We travelled into the city on the train and then caught the tram all the way to the Zoo.

Such an exciting day and I can remember falling asleep on the way home exhausted from my exciting day out.

The zoo was very different back then with the animal exhibits very primitive and certainly nowhere near as Eco-friendly as they are these days.
