The Montrose Community market is situated at the base of the Dandenong Mountains. Makes for a great stop off on your way to the Yarra Valley. 

The Community Market is run by volunteer stallholders and all money raised is donated back to the community. 

The market hosts a 2nd hand book stall, if it isn't raining and other fundraisers to cover council site and insurance fees.  Books are donated by stallholders, and the stall may include cd's, dvd's, etc. Gold coin donation to purchase. 

The Montrose CFA and Montrose Township Group run displays and activities from the historical cottage at the Montrose Town Square. 

It is a small market held on the 3rd Saturday of the month, with about 30 stalls selling a wide variety of homemade, handmade, homegrown and baked goods. 

It has been running for over 30+ years at the same location and is well supported by the community. 

The Montrose Community Market runs 3rd Saturday of the month (except January). 

The variety of products being sold at the market include items that have been homemade, crafted, baked, sewn, grown.

20+ stalls with soaps, candles, jewelry, cards, knits, woolens, socks, cakes, jams, wood crafts, plants, fresh fruit/veg, art, dream catchers, gifts, kids toys, dog coats, blankets, baby items, sausage sizzle, etc. All made locally.

Fantastic Community Support

Stall fees go to the council's annual fee to use the space and annual insurance fee.

Any profit raised by the market is donated once per year to selected local organisations, charities and/or clubs.

In 2015 the market donated $3000 to the Montrose CFA. These funds were donated to go towards building an outdoor BBQ area at the Montrose CFA. A place where volunteers and family could relax and get together. 

In 2016 the market donated $2000 to Montrose Primary School to help set up a new assistance program.

This is an example that the Montrose Community Market is able to provide for the local community. A wonderful initiative helping to save the environment and support worthwhile causes. 

Montrose CFA will be accepting old car batteries at the next Montrose Community Market on Saturday 17th August between 9am & 1pm.

Funds raised will be going towards the Melbourne Firefighter Stair Climb.

600 Firefighters, including members of Montrose CFA, will be climbing the 28 floors of Crown Metropol Hotel wearing 25kgs of turnout gear and breathing apparatus on Saturday 7th September. The fund raising will provide financial help to help fight Depression, PTSI and Suicide.
