Akoonah Park Market - Berwick
Open Every Sunday

Pakenham Market

Come explore the Akoonah Park Market.  A community market that operates every Sunday as it attracts stallholders from miles around to sell their wares.

Conveniently situated on the main Princes Highway route, it is easily accessible using public transport.

There is always plenty of free parking for the market customers.

This top trash and treasure market is always a great place for locals and passing traffic to drop into, as there is always something of interest to buy.

It never ceases to amaze me just how far some people will drive to find a bargain and this market provides tons of those.

This variety market houses over 350 stallholders selling a huge range of products.

These range from selling food, fresh produce, flowers, plants, toys and games, handcrafts, tools and work-gear, artworks, pet needs, bric-a-brac, clothing, shoes and an extensive variety of other stalls.

3 main pavillions house mostly permanent stallholders, great idea as it is easy to find them if you visit on a regular basis.

Entrance is free and the kids can have a kick on the footy oval as well that sits beside the market.

Jumping castles, soft serve ice creams, live entertainment, delicious scones with jam and cream, hot chips and a delicious variety of cuisines from around the world, so much to see, do and sample for the whole family

I pop on down to the market at least once a month as I am lucky to be a local and it is great to chat with the permanent stallholders. Never ceases to amaze me that I end up finding something that I've wanted for such a long time and never found up until now.

The market is perfect for all your gardening needs with a variety of stallholders selling seasonal plants, specialty plants and gardening equipment.

Sometimes you will find plant stalls with larger tree specimens and when the warmer months arrive there are seedlings and cut flowers to brighten up your home.

Being quite a Community Market, lots of local community organizations and clubs take advantage of the 'fund raising' aspect of running a stall. They can do so at no cost to themselves as their stall is FREE.

Love the egg and bacon rolls and the crisp, crisp, did I mention crisp, chips that the organizers sell. Along with other hot foods like well cooked BBQ sausages, the smells GET you as soon as you arrive.

I just love indulging in the freshly baked scones loaded with jam and cream. Pull up a pew and sit and listen to the live entertainment that is usually playing just outside the community hall. Great way to spend a Sunday morning.

One of my favorite little ditties is  'This litle piggy went to market ...', so what better way to combine my love for markets and the kid's little poem. Hope you think so as well :-)

This little handy bag can go anywhere with you. Just watch people's reactions, should be fun at the next market that you go to.
