The Lillydale Lake is an artificial, man made lake with lush wetlands surrounding it. The area has been planted out with green parklands full of native trees that attract Australia's amazing birdlife.
There are almost 100 hectares of land, as well as the beautiful lake itself.
Lillydale Lake is open at all times and has a range of facilities and activities to suit everyone.
Enjoy a picnic or barbecue, walk around the 28 hectare lake, or watch your children enjoy the all abilities playground. Entry is free.
There are 10 kilometres of shared trail at the park, perfect for walking or bike riding. Fishing is permitted at the lake.
Dogs are welcome with two designated dog off-lead areas. Dogs must be on a lead in all other areas of the park. Please observe park signage.
It is one of the best children's playgrounds found throughout Melbourne's parks and gardens. There are climbing frames, monkey bars, swings, flying foxes and so much more for the kids to play on.
Surrounded with a childproof safety fence, the playground provides a safe area to play on. The playground is also suitable for adults to use as well.

The all abilities playground features a Liberty Swing, giving those in a wheelchair the opportunity to enjoy a swing.
A key is required to use the Liberty Swing and can be purchased from the Lilydale Community Link. Once a key is purchased is can be used any time. Please call 1300 368 333 to arrange for a key before your visit.
Located at Lillydale Lake, the splash pad is part of the playspace with water jets/sprays for all ages open every day between 8am and 9pm. Entry is free.
The water play is available during the warmer months each year from September / October and the water jets / sprays will remain active until early April.
Families come from miles around to enjoy this top quality recreation facility. It is the best place for a cheap weekend break. You can walk or ride your bike around the lake.
Every day of the week this parkland lake used used by the general public either on a casual basis or the park offers a super venue for the fitness enthusiast.
The walk is very easy, no steep hills to climb and always with a beautiful view of the lake and surrounding district to inspire the soul.
The birdlife around the lake is everywhere so watch out for your picnic sandwiches as the birds actually fly up onto the tables for a free feed!
Lots of different clubs use the lake and parklands.
There are Radio Yacht Races (see the link below for more information)these are held on some Saturdays, bring your own and have some fun. If you are really interested in a great family activity, try your hand at sailing a Radio Controlled Yacht. Contact the Lillydale Radio Yacht Club for more information.
There are canoe enthusiasts, kayak users and you can also sail yourself around the lake at your leisure.
Families can try their hand at fishing, there are fishing contests always being held on the banks of the lake.
In Summer, it is great to sit on the sand at the man made beach and watch the kids building sand castles and paddling in the cool water.
The Lake is a great place to take the family for a picnic day trip.
There is usually an ice-cream vendor parked near the playground on a weekend for that extra treat.
If you happen to run out of a few bits and pieces for that delicious BBQ, no worries as Lilydale Shopping Center is only 5 minutes away from Lillydale lake.
There is also a local milkbar just up the road near the roundabout.
