Roadknight Beach, Anglesea

by Michael Willem
(Melbourne, Australia.)

Roadknight Beach at Anglesea on Victoria's Great Ocean Road is our favourite beach!

I've been visiting the Great Ocean Road since I was a kid, but only found this fantastic beach with my own kids just a few years ago. Needless to say, my kids love it here!

It's not the Main beach at Anglesea, and you have to turn down what seem like side streets to find it, but it's so worth it!

It is totally kid friendly, with Point Roadknight providing protection from the otherwise famous swells around here, but if it's waves you want then it's a simple stroll to the ocean side of the point, so in essence there's two beaches here, separated by Point Roadknight.

Even at the peak of the holiday season, there's less people here than the main Anglesea beach, so you'll be able to keep a better eye on your young ones.

You get a great view around the bay to the mouth of the Anglesea River, where the main beach is.

Wishing you all the best on your next beach adventure.

Be Sun Smart

You cannot feel or see UV (Ultraviolet radiation). We can see the sun's light and we can feel the sun's warmth (the infrared radiation). Our senses don't pick up on UV radiation and this is why it is so damaging.

Right across Australia this UV radiation varies, it being determined by the time of day, time of year, the weather including cloud cover, how close to the equator the position is and other considerable scientific factors.
