The Southern Cross Railway Station is close by if you want to visit the outer suburban areas of the city. Country trains can transport you to outer Victorian, exciting destinations such as Sovereign Hill in Ballarat. Just check this Public transport link

The Skybus terminal is conveniently close by if you are coming in from Melbourne Airport, just a 3 minute easy walk from the terminal to the hotel (230 metres). 

If you need to hire a car then the convenience of Thrift Car and Truck Rentals is right near by. Just check the Google Map I have on the page here for details.
