South Melbourne Market

South Melbourne Market

South Melbourne Market

Today we went to South Melbourne Market. It was a fantastic morning just wandering down the various aisles looking from left to right seeing what was on sale.

There were a few places to buy kitchen ware and I got some much needed pegs and a steamer tray which I had been looking for. They were soooo cheap.

We also got a massage from the stall holder which was just fantastic. Bought some long stem deep purple tulips for two of the vases back here at the house and they look lovely and fresh.

The main thrill was seeing all of the Deli stalls, they had butchers with such healthy looking meat, a couple of chicken stalls with lovely meat and Continental Deli's with all sorts of cold meats and sausages.

Even though they have a small food hall we wandered over the road to a really friendly cafe called Q11 and had a cup of coffee there, they have quite a lot of organic food to eat and the coffee is Fair Trade.

I highly recommend South Melbourne Market and Q11.

Hi Robyn,

I agree. Sth Melbourne Market is a great place to wander.
With or without the kids, I love to shop the fresh food and sometimes gather up some yummy bits and pieces for a picnic down the beach.
Glad you enjoyed one of the great cosmopolitan areas of Melbourne.

Regards,
SuperNan
